The incumbent will serve as the Deputy Director for Programs, providing high-level advice and recommendations to the ATJ Director regarding access to justice programs, as well as the general operation, functioning, strategic planning, staffing, and budgeting for the Office. The incumbent will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the execution of ATJ programmatic initiatives, including but not limited to the Legal Aid Interagency Roundtable, the Language Access Program, international work in compliance with executive order mandates to lead implementation of UN Sustainable Development Goal 16, the Access DOJ Program, and the Federal Government Pro Bono Program. ATJ aims to achieve this core mission by promoting access to judicial systems through legal assistance and counsel; pursuing data-driven, stakeholder-informed, and innovative approaches to judicial process; and by promoting accountability and reform of legal systems with the goal of creating a more holistic and equitable approach to justice. The three strategic pillars of ATJ are to: 1) promote justice system access; 2) accelerate justice system innovation; and 3) safeguard justice system integrity.
This is a 120-day, reimbursable detail opportunity to serve as the Deputy Director for Programs within the Office for Access to Justice (ATJ), Office of Programs.
