The PDD's central responsibility is leading the development of resilient, contested logistics capabilities highlighted as Department of Defense priorities in the National Military Strategy and the Joint Warfighting Concept. The PDD leads logistics integration within the Joint Staff J-4 and the adaptation and innovation of the Joint Logistics Enterprise (JLEnt) under the conditions of disruptive technology, great power competition, and the accelerating pace of change in warfare. Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
