IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
This position require military membership in the Puerto Rico Army National Guard (PRARNG). If you are not a military member of the PRARNG (i.e. Airman, civilian, active duty Soldier, prior service, guard member from another state, reservist, IRR, State Guard, etc.), you must contact the Recruiting and Retention (R&R) Office at (787) 289-1400 extension 2015 or 2008, and request the PRARNG Military Basic Requirements (MBR) Certification. If the MBR certification is not submitted, or you do not meet the requirements to be a member of the PRARNG, your application will not be screened.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION:
Area 1 = All permanent Technician Warrant Officer and Enlisted members employee (NG T32/NG T5) within Puerto Rico Army National Guard.
Area 2 = All indefinite Technician Warrant Officers and Enlisted members employee (NG T32/NG T5) within Puerto Rico Army National Guard.
Area 3 = Warrant Officer and Enlisted currently serving members of the Puerto Rico Army National Guard.
Area 4 = Warrant Officer and Enlisted Prior (former) members of the Puerto Rico Army National Guard.
Area 6 = Applicants who meet all requirements to become Warrant Officer and Enlisted members of the Puerto Rico Army National Guard. (If the MBR certification is not submitted, your application will not be screened).
First round consideration will be given to Area 1 Candidates. (All other Areas will be screened only in the event that there are no qualified or recommended Candidates)

DUTIES:
As a SMALL ARMS REPAIRER (D1227000), WG-6610-9, you will perform maintenance, repair, and inspections on small arms and related devices. The primary purposes are to provide maintenance repair and accurization of national match weapons.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Frequently lifts subassemblies or small weapons weighing 15 to 20 pounds. Often carries large assemblies or weapons weighing up 50 pounds. Work requires walking, bending, and long periods of standing.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Works in shop buildings that are well lighted, heated, and ventilated. Stands on concrete floors or other hard surfaces for long periods. Exposed to oil, grease, and solvents when cleaning and lubricating weapons. Frequently exposed to the possibility of minor cuts and bruises from tools or sharp edges of metal. Subject to noise when test firing weapons.
QUALIFICATIONS:

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Experience or training which demonstrates a working knowledge to read and interpret instructions, repair manual, specifications, and drawings; must have a knowledge of shop mathematics sufficient to use testing devices and measuring instruments; and be proficient in the use and maintenance of hand tools and equipment.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Applicant must possess at least ONE (1) year in the occupational series code 6610 or the equivalent EIGHTEEN (18) months of specialized experience performing or supervising duties such as performing overhaul, maintenance, repairs and inspections on a variety of small arms and related devices; performing accurization of national match weapons (pistols, rifles, and light machine guns) on a limited basis; altering and refining mass-produced weapons; examining for defects, misalignment and malfunctions; modifying and rebuilding small weapons; making repairs, modifications, and adjustments; diagnosing and identifying mechanical deficiencies and/or malfunctions in weapons; applying final test fires and/or performing operational checks of arms repaired; responsible for accountability and security of arms while they are kept for repair.
There is education requirement at this time for this position.
