The Chief, Connected Care Service executes leadership that is characterized by substantial and continuous responsibility and accountability for population groups and integrated programs that cross service and/or discipline lines, influence organizational mission, health care and responsibility for outcomes. The Chief provides leadership in the delivery of care and the management of personnel and resources across the organization. S/he assumes overall accountability for all Facility Telehealth Programs, to include Home Telehealth; MyHealtheVet/ Secure Messaging; and Outreach/Rural Health Services. S/he assumes overall accountability for administrative functions for these areas and is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, directing, and evaluating the overall program and functions therein including staffing, equipment, supply, and budget accountability. S/he is responsible for all processes, performance measures and other metrics that support Quality Care and Access. S/he supports and facilitates outreach and rural health programs that provide access to exemplary care that is fully integrated across the continuum. S/he is fully committed to continually improving Primary Care, Mental Health, and Specialty Care through expansion and improvements in virtual care delivery platforms. The Chief partners with Nurse and Physician Colleagues, Clinical and Administrative Chiefs of Service, and Administrative and Clinical Directors to achieve the goals and performance measures of VHA, VISN 21, and VACCHCS by ensuring the highest quality care is provided in all areas. S/he develops and maintains effective relationships with all levels of internal and external customers by interacting and relating effectively with Veteran patients and families, community partners, local program and service leaders, VISN Program Leaders and National Healthcare Leaders with VHA and the larger Community. Functions as an administrator, educator, and consultant, utilizing management theory, in collaboration with Patient Care Services and others. Assist nurse managers and advanced practitioners to carry out the functions and activities expected of them. Contribute ideas and recommendations for the establishment of standards of care, policies, and objectives for the enhancement of the delivery of care organization wide. Assist in policy making activities and strategic direction related to service lines utilizing or impacted by Connected Care programs.
