These positions are assigned to the Buildings, Utilities & Sanitation Unit, within the Division of Facilities Maintenance at Shenandoah National Park. The positions perform simple and routine work in the maintenance and repair of grounds, exterior structures, buildings and related utilities, requiring the use of a variety of trade practices associated with occupations such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, painting, and other related trades.
The primary purpose / primary duties of the positions support park Sanitation needs by cleaning and maintaining comfort stations. Duties include:
There is no substitution of education for experience for Wage Grade (WG) positions.
A selectee receiving a first appointment to the Federal Government (Civil Service) is entitled only to the lowest step of the grade for which selected. The display of a salary range on this vacancy shall not be construed as granting an entitlement to a higher rate of pay.

A relocation incentive is not the same as a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move and, as such, may be granted in conjunction with one another.
Physical Demands: Work from ladders, scaffolds and platforms and where surfaces to be coated, or the parts of systems worked on are hard to reach that require incumbent to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
