The Chief Information Officer serves as the principal advisor to the Director and Associate Directors of NIST on the planning, execution, evaluation, and delivery of information technology (IT) services and support consistent with the mission, goals, and objectives of the Institute.
In addition, this position is responsible for the following:

PROFESSIONAL TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS (PTQs):
PTQ 1: Demonstrated experience in managing enterprise-wide information technology (IT) for a complex organization, to include: IT investment management, network design and development, IT application development, network and systems operation, or information system security and assurance.
PTQ 2: Demonstrated experience leading the implementation of change management solutions that better enable an organization to achieve its mission through advances in technology.
PTQ 3: Demonstrated experience promoting a customer centric approach to delivering IT services in a research organization with varied customers, clients, and stakeholders.
