The Community Based Outpatient Clinic Nurse Manager (Montgomery County, Prince Georges County and Southeast Washington, DC ) provides care and counseling of persons or in the promotion and maintenance of health and prevention of illness and injury based upon the nursing process which includes systematic data gathering, assessment, appropriate nursing
judgment, and evaluation of human responses to actual or potential health problems through such services as case finding, health teaching, health counseling; provision of care supportive to or restorative of life and well-being; and executing medical regimens including administering
medications and treatments prescribed by a licensed or otherwise legally authorized provider. The nurse's primary commitment is to the patient, whether an individual, family, group, or community (ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses).
The CBOC Nurse Manager (Montgomery County, Prince Georges County and Southeast Washington, DC) demonstrates leadership and mastery of practice in delivering efficient, comprehensive, and continuous patient-driven holistic care through active collaboration, communication, and coordination of resources. CBOC Nurse Manager Ill considers all characteristics
of the individual, including gender and role identification, age, life stage, state of health, race, culture, socio-economic status, values and beliefs in order to assist each patient with the improvement of his/her health status to the maximum potential. He/she utilizes core elements of performance
including knowledge and active participation in unit/service level quality improvement processes, such as the customer service program. He/she promotes the medical center mission, vision and values; compiles the Equal Employment Opportunity programs, partnerships, customer service standards and Veterans Affairs policies and procedures.
CBOC Nurse Manager (Montgomery County, Prince Georges County and Southeast Washington, DC) is additionally responsible for sound fiscal and human resource management, effective management of administrative and clinical issues, customer service/patient satisfaction, patient and employee safety, and employee relations. The CBOC Nurse Manager monitors the use and maintenance of equipment, supply and use of stock and supplies, as well as environmental conditions and services. He/she establishes relevant reporting priorities as applicable to the role and establishes priorities for unit-based quality/performance improvement activities, while promoting a culture of comprising evidence-based practices. He/she is ultimately involved in the evaluation, redesign, and implementation of unit-based/facility-wide/health service policies and protocols when applicable. The CBOC Nurse Manager collaborates with leadership teams as it pertains to appropriate management of Full Time Employee Equivalent, resource requests, developing and implementing strategies to recruit and retain an effective workforce, and disseminating educational and non-educational information to all personnel.
