The specialized experience requirements for the GS-14 level of this position are: Experience planning, conducting, and leading a clinical research project focused on animal disease; evaluating and interpreting research results; analyzing experimental data and publishing research findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals; serving as editor or co-editor of peer-reviewed journals; and developing collaborative relationships with government officials, scientific organizations, and internal and external industry stakeholders to coordinate research efforts and validate research results.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
