Advises the Director on current issues and trends that bear on Agency strategic direction and program development.
Translates policy determinations into strategic program plans for regional, country, and sector development.
Monitors economic and political developments and assists in developing trade strategies for pursuing opportunities in the countries and region and/ or sub-region.
Plans and implements short and long-range strategies and establishes priorities for supporting U.S. commercial involvement in the region.
Identifies activities suitable for USTDA funding by evaluating proposals from U.S. entities and requests for assistance for economic development projects.
Drafts and negotiates grant agreements with responsible foreign entities (grantee) for USTDA grant funding.
Provides guidance to and otherwise directs the work of all FTE subordinates and contract staff assigned to the region.
