U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.
Support the Assistant Athletic Director of Academics in offering a comprehensive support program for student athletes that focuses on overall student athlete development.
Academic advisor for assigned athletic teams. Promote academic success and retention of student-athletes. Provide academic advising and monitoring of academic progress. Plans lessons, develops curriculum, teach courses as directed.
Mentors at-risk student-athletes. Meets with prospective student-athletes on recruiting visits and coordinates NCAA CHAMPS/Life Skills programming and assists with NCAA compliance items.
Assists in the implementation of program assessment tasks (completion of individual case studies, collection of individual and team performance data, statistical analyses). Attends professional meetings and maintains professional contacts.
Attends and participates in departmental seminars to share and broaden knowledge and experience in teaching and training methods and techniques. Presents assessment data and other findings at national conferences. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
1. Undergraduate and Graduate Education with a major study (at least 24 semester hours completed) in Literacy, Writing, English, Secondary/Adult Education, Sport Management, Psychology, History, Sociology, or Secondary/Adult Counseling.

OR
2. Two years of specialized experience providing academic counseling services to at-risk student populations at the collegiate level.
This experience must be reflected on your resume to be considered eligible for this position.
Highly Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledgeable of NCAA rules and regulations and the importance of compliance.
The experience/education/certification must be reflected on your resume and your degree/transcript/certification uploaded at the time of application to be considered a highly preferred candidate.

Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials
This is a pay-banded position.
Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.
Incentives and Bonuses
Incentives will not be paid.
Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances
Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
