WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As a Supervisory Aging Services Program Specialist, you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:
- Improving the delivery and effectiveness of elder rights and adult protective services activities, and/or initiatives under the Older Americans Act and the Elder Justice Act which include: developing, implementing, and evaluating new methods and procedures for operational improvements to elder justice, elder rights, elder economic security and adult protective services programs.
- Planning and assigning work to staff to meet priorities and complete work.
- Using qualitative and quantitative data and analytical tools in order to provide solutions to improve elder rights elder justice, elder economic security and adult protective services.
- Providing guidance on the implications of proposed, new or revised policies, regulations, and legislative proposals.

The Administration for Community Living (ACL) seeks to maximize the independence, well-being, and health of older adults, people with disabilities across the lifespan, and their families and caregivers by increasing access to community supports and resources.
The Office of Elder Justice and Adult Protective Services manages the operation, administration, and assessment of ACL's elder abuse response and prevention, elder rights, including legal assistance, and elder economic security programs, including pension counseling and assistance programs, funded through the Older Americans Act and the Elder Justice Act. The Office leads the development and implementation of comprehensive Adult Protective Services systems to provide a coordinated and seamless response to empower the recovery of adults who experience maltreatment and to prevent abuse before it happens. The Office implements and coordinates innovation and demonstration activities in elder justice, elder rights and elder economic security, develops standards to improve delivery and effectiveness of such services, and additionally provides support for the Elder Justice Coordinating Council.
