The Information Technology Specialist (CUSTSPT) is responsible for supervising Tier 1 customer service and technical support for users, globally.
In this position, you will:
Develop project plans, operating plans, and supporting budgets. Determine scope, methods, resource requirements, and schedules for all activities. Assess branch practices as an operating unit for providing customer information through the OCIO Service Desk. Provide guidance on best practices and furnishes expert technical direction for utilizing resources.

Experience: You qualify for this position if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal Service. For this position, specialized experience is defined as leading and managing IT Service Desk systems, projects, activities, and initiatives; technical experience in the management, installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of agency hardware, software, systems, and networks; Desktop and telecommunications technology.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Part-time and/or unpaid experience related to this position will be considered to determine the total number of years and months of experience. Be sure to note the number of paid or unpaid hours worked each week.
In addition to meeting the Specialized Experience above for all positions individuals must have related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

Mastery knowledge of IT management policies, procedures, and best practices to direct OCIO Service Desk activities that comply with established objectives, procedures, and standards.
