This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Office of the Secretary, Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Civil Rights, Washington DC..
At the full performance level (GS-15) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
1) Functions as a subject matter expert, advising the ACE Division Director on all DOI-wide EEO compliance matters.
2) Works collaboratively across human resources, bureaus' EEO offices, other bureaus'/offices' programs, and the EEOC's Office of Federal Operations to ensure that DOI is in full compliance with the law, including EEOC regulations, orders, and other written instructions.
3) Advises senior management on potential sanctions for failing to comply with corrective actions ordered by the EEOC.
4) Prepares FADs, pursuant to EEOC regulations, applicable federal case law, and ODICR Standards. Performs legal sufficiency reviews of procedural dismissals.
5) Provides expert advice to Agency managers, supervisors, EEO Practitioners, and employees on applicable law, regulations, and judicial decisions regarding non-discrimination in employment, programs, and activities of the DOI.
6) Develops and provides EEO training and orientation programs to managers, supervisors, counselors, and employees.
7) Participates in joint EEO activities and special projects to address Departmental equal opportunity
issues, policy determinations, or effective implementation strategies.
8) Utilizes DOI's computer-based complaint tracking system to prepare reports, and to obtain information for work products. Prepares staff management documents such as directives, briefing manuals, technical instructions, and other required documents. Collects, analyzes, and prepares EEO statistical data, comprehensive reports, notes trends, and/or omissions.
The Office of the Secretary has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
Washington, DC Salary Information
GS-15: $163,964 - $191,900 per annum.
First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level.
