Serving as a Emergency Management Specialist GS-0089-12/13 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is within the Emergency Management & Continuity Branch (EMC), under the Mission and Readiness Support Directorate (MRSD) and located in Glynco, Georgia.
The primary purpose of this position is to manage programs within the EMC portfolio, lead and direct activities supporting the development, implementation, and management of significant portions of the FLETC EMC Program.
Typical duties include:
You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the federal service carrying out the day-to-day operations of an organization's emergency management and continuity of operations programs.
Time-in-Grade: Current and former GS federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11 grade level in the federal service. The time-in-grade requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the federal service planning, managing, and developing an organization's emergency management and continuity of operations programs.
Time-in-Grade: Current and former GS federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the GS-12 grade level in the federal service. The time-in-grade requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps and AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
