The Environment and Natural Resources Division seeks a Contract Specialist for a 120-Day Detail to the Office of the Comptroller. This reimbursable detail requires the current supervisor's approval and an agreement between the gaining and losing DOJ Offices. Selectees will be appointed at their current GS-12 or GS-13 grade level and salary. The Office's Procurement Section provides acquisition services for expert witness and other service contracts for trial attorneys, executives, and managers.

This announcement is open to current Department of Justice competitive service employees who are currently or formerly employed at GS-12 or GS-13. This is a reimbursable DETAIL opportunity not-to-exceed 120 days.
As a Contract Specialist, the employee will perform varied and significant duties related to procuring goods and services, including assisting with Fiscal Year 2024 backlog of procurement actions. He/she will work closely with the procurement team and will perform work comparable to the duties and responsibilities at the grade level selected.
The position reports to the Assistant Director for Procurement. Telework is available after in-person training in accordance with office policy.
