The incumbent serves as the Deputy Chief Financial Officer (DCFO) of the DoD, and is responsible for formulating, developing, and advocating Secretary of Defense policies to capture, record, and report on the status and use of total defense resources. The DCFO is the principal advisor to the Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller)/CFO, as well as to Defense senior leaders, on all issues involving the amended CFO Act and related financial management reforms.
