The main duties of the incumbent relate to correspondence and various logistics regarding the federal historic preservation review process known as Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (Section 106). Section 106 requires federal agencies to take into account the effects of projects they carry out, license, or fund, on historic properties, and provide the ACHP a reasonable opportunity to comment. The ACHP oversees the Section 106 process and directly participates in numerous Section 106 consultations.
At the full performance level GG-11 the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Reviewing Section 106 correspondence, and determining the adequacy of information and documentation and required level of coordination;
2. Coordinating and managing correspondence, reports and documents;
3. Assembling case data and preparing summary reports using the ACHPConnect database; and
4. Providing administrative support with travel, telephone coverage, and purchase of office supplies
Salary Information
GS-10: $75,329 - $97,925 per year
GS-11: $82,764 - $107,590 per year
**First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level.

If selected for this position, you will be extended a tentative offer of employment pending a satisfactory background check. Current Federal employees or individuals with an existing completed background investigation may not be required to undergo another background check; these will be handled on a case-by-case basis in coordination with the Bureau security office.
