The National Intelligence Council (NIC) consists of the most senior intelligence analysts supporting the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) in carrying out responsibilities as the head of the Intelligence Community (IC) and as the principal adviser to the President for intelligence matters related to national security. The NIC produces a variety of all-source, IC coordinated intelligence reports, including its flagship product, the National Intelligence Estimate, which represents the Intelligence Community's most authoritative statement on a key national security issue.
Support the NIC FO senior leadership team (Chair, Principal Vice Chair, Vice Chair for Analysis, and Vice Chair for Operations) by monitoring incoming memoranda, reports, and requests for information or comment; prioritizing urgent items; and researching items of particular interest.
Serve as the NIC's senior advisor for Strategic Communications development; help to improve internal NIC communication through weekly emails, all-hands events, welcome and onboarding materials.
Draft and/or edit outgoing correspondence, speeches, weekly activity reports, and briefs on behalf of the NIC Chair or Acting Chair. Review written material for proper formatting, grammar, and punctuation; proper coordination; and substantive content prior to NIC Chair signature or approval.
Lead the planning, development, and execution of a comprehensive NIC strategic communications plan for assigned areas of responsibility that effectively communicates the NIC mission, vision, and goals to stakeholders.
Develop and disseminate information to stakeholders using a full range of media and communication methods; based on assignment, methods may include Town Halls, roundtables, ODNI senior principal speeches and Congressional testimony, workforce memorandums, ODNI brochures and publications, press releases, questions and answers (Q&A) and frequently asked questions (FAQs) documents, Internet and web 2.0 communications, and/or video presentations.
Maintain productive working relationships with staff in other communications organizations in the Intelligence Community (IC), and, as appropriate, members of the media, community leaders, policy groups, and/or concerned constituencies to provide information about ODNI mission, programs, and activities.
Develop, lead, and execute a strategy to launch Global Trends 2045, including online presence and engagement with the media, universities, think tanks, and other public forum domestic and foreign.
Duties may include serving as a Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR).
Must be a current permanent ODNI employee.
