Provide Journeyman Level Plumbing, by applying the most current Uniform Plumbing Code to new construction or rehabbing Residential housing, buildings/structures, water and wastewater systems being indoors or outdoors or above ground or below ground, lift stations, water plants, comfort stations and heating systems within the park.
There is no substitution of education for experience for Wage Grade (WG) positions.

A Recruitment Incentive May Be Authorized for a newly selected employee when appointed to a permanent, temporary, or term position. A Federal employee who is transferring to the National Park Service from another component, bureau or Federal agency and who does not meet the conditions under 5 CFR 575.102 is not eligible for a recruitment incentive.
A Relocation Incentive May Be Authorized for a Federal employee when the employee must move, as directed by the National Park Service (NPS) either through a management directed reassignment or selection for employment, to a different location at least 50 miles away from the one where his/her position of record held at time of selection is currently located, due to a need of the NPS. A relocation incentive is not the same as a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move and, as such, may be granted in conjunction with one another.

Physical Demands: Moderate to heavy physical effort is required for normal shop operation. Incumbent must be able to lift and carry moderately heavy items (up to 100 pounds) and work in cramped or tiring positions. Duties require stooping, bending, kneeling, and standing for moderately long periods and occasional overhead, ladder, and scaffold work. Snowmobile operation is occasionally required for winter operations.
Working Conditions: Incumbent operates in numerous locations throughout the park in all types of weather. Work will vary from shop to outdoors in severe weather conditions, in high and low temperatures. Part of the work performed may be under extreme temperature variations of 120 F in the boiler rooms to -50F outside for emergency repairs. Working under buildings may be damp with limited overhead. Incumbent is exposed to dust, dirt, and noxious fumes. May be assigned to Special Projects or a district operation as need dictates. Such assignment may be for short or long term duration. Incumbent may be required to travel via snow machine to interior locations in the park.
