To qualify at the GS-7 level, you must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal service analyzing qualitative, quantitative, and structured data.
OR
Have a bachelor's degree in Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, or a field directly related and have Superior Academic Achievement (as evidenced by class standing in the upper third of the graduating class; 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale for all academic work; grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale in the major field of study; or election to membership in a national honor scholastic society.
OR
Have at least one year of progressively higher graduate level (12 semester hours) education in Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, or a field directly related;
OR
Have combinations of successfully completed graduate-level education and specialized experience that meets the total experience requirements
Examples of specialized experience for the GS-7 level include: performing routine, scientific, or technical tasks and projects; planning and collaborating with stakeholders and customers to identify the appropriate data, methodological approach, and design for a variety of data science and/or analytics projects.
To qualify at the GS-9 level, you must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service analyzing, interpreting, and correlating qualitative, quantitative, and structured data.

A Master's degree in Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, or a field directly related;
OR
Completion of at least 2 years of graduate education in an accredited college or university in Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, or a field directly related;

Combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience that meets the total experience requirements.
Examples of specialized experience for the GS-9 level include: applying project management principles; performing routine, scientific, or technical tasks and projects; using and manipulating existing databases and relational database systems; collaborating with teammates, customers, and stakeholders in a reproducible and organized manner.
