This position is located within the Department of Compact Operations (DCO), Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). The Country Director (CD) will be physically based in Washington DC for the first part of the term and then assigned to a specific country for the remainder of the term.
There are two phases to this position. In the first phase of the position, the CD is responsible for the development of a Compact Program with the country Government. This first phase of the position is based in Washington, DC." In the second phase of the position, which is country-based, the CD will be located in Cape Verde and will lead the Resident Country Team to provide in-country technical and operational oversight for the successful implementation of the country Compact. As an official U.S. Government employee (USG), the CD will be part of the USG country team and will collaborate closely with the local U.S. Embassy.
