This position is located in the Veterans Benefits Administration's (VBA) Compensation Service (CS) and reports to Executive Director, CS. The Deputy Executive Director, Policy and Procedures oversees the various staffs responsible for regulations, procedures, policies, inter-agency agreements, policy implementation, military exposures related matters and collaborations/engagements related to VA disability compensation and its programs.

The position is located in the Veterans Benefits Administration's (VBA) Compensation Service and reports to the Executive Director, Compensation Service. The responsibilities of the Deputy Executive Director, Policy & Procedures include, but are not limited to:
1. Formulate policy alternatives on various issues and topics, and develop strategies for implementing policies.
2. Oversee research that includes personal interviews and/or correspondence with internal/external representatives.
3. Prepare written testimony for presentation to Congressional Subcommittees on legislative changes or proposals.
4. Serve as liaison and coordinator with other Federal Agencies and VA offices in the setting of policy and procedures affecting individuals under the jurisdiction of those Departments and Agencies.
5. Provides legal analysis to the Executive Director and other VA senior leaders on a wide range of issues affecting the Disability Compensation Program.
6. Make recommendations regarding policy and procedural objectives to pursue and meet Agency goals.
