To qualify for the GS-05 grade level, you must meet the following requirements:
Specialized Experience - You may qualify with one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
- Using computer software such as word processing, databases, and spreadsheets to perform automated tasks.; AND
- Reviewing outgoing correspondence or reports for format, grammar, and typographical accuracy.
OR Education: Completion of 4 academic years of post-high school leading to a bachelor's degree.
OR Combination: You may qualify with a combination of qualifying education and experience. (For example: the completion of 50% requirements for a Bachelors degree and 6 months of specialized experience.)
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Pathways Student Internship Program Education Requirement:
A. Must be a current student at an accredited high school (public or private) or in a home-school program*; college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, or trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution, on a full or half-time basis (as defined by the institution in which the student is enrolled) pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate. *Secondary home-school curricula must be recognized by the State or local government oversight agency.
B. You must maintain student eligibility and enrollment for the duration of the internship. If you do not maintain eligibility and enrollment, you are ineligible for this program. C. Every semester, you must maintain good academic standing with an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
