This position has job functions that must be executed within specific geographic locations. The official duty station is a federal facility, leased space, or an alternative worksite (typically the employee’s home) within the specified geographic area. If you are selected for this position, you will be expected to report to the duty station listed on this announcement within 45 days. At that time, you may be eligible to request to telework one or more days a pay period depending upon the terms of the agency’s telework policy. The duty station will be determined upon selection and must be a physical address (not a PO Box) located within approximately a 50 miles radius of the geographic areas listed/described.
As a Supervisory Accountant, you will perform the following duties:
Participates with nationwide Service and Staff officials in the review and financial evaluation of program operations, proposals and developments. Provides professional and technical advice and guidance to senior GSA Service and Staff officials, to equivalent levels in our customer and client agencies and to vendors.
Advises and guides accountants in the interpretation of accounting systems and issues and in the implementation of procedures and programs. Resolves questions as to the methods of treating unusual accounting transactions, the implementation of new accounting systems and procedures and solutions for problems associated with new legislation or policy. Coordinates the accounting practices of accountants to ensure consistent accounting and reporting.
Reviews analytical reports and organizes factual data for the development of directives prescribing procedures, including manuals covering highly specialized subject matters. Evaluate Data in financial reports to determine trends in meeting accomplishment of measurable goals. Directs changes or revisions in procedures and policy in order to meet program goals and enhance customer satisfaction.
Identifies, aligns and allocates resources to meet Branch and Divisional goals and priorities. Represents the Financial Services Division (BG2D) or the Financial Information and Operations Division (BG2E) on government wide committees and working groups, at conferences and meetings to exchange information, to address issues of importance to the area of financial management and program areas, and to keep abreast of trends and developments in the field.

The GS-15 salary range starts at $138,883 per year. Locality will be determined based on duty location.
If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is professional accounting experience that included planning, directing, organizing and implementing comprehensive financial, accounting and/or payroll programs and/or systems; reviewing, evaluating, and controlling financial/accounting program operations, proposals, and developments; and providing expert professional and technical guidance to senior level officials.
