WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
The Office of the General Counsel Public Health Division's Public Health and Science Branch will be hiring one permanent Management Analyst to provide operational and administrative support to a branch of more than 40 attorneys and staff that provides a full array of legal services to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (OASH), the Office of Minority Health (OMH), and/or the Program Support Center's (PSC) Federal Property Assistance Program. The primary purpose of this position is to perform studies and analysis related to the most effective and efficient use and management of the Public Health and Science Branch's resources. Assignments typically involve planning extensive, complex and critical initiatives that affect the quality and efficiency of management systems and programs; and require consideration of budget, manpower and mission trends in determining the best human capital strategy for the organization. The incumbent utilizes a high degree of qualitative and quantitative analytical skills in analyzing, evaluating, and improving the effectiveness of the operations. Duties include:
- Analyzing, evaluating, and/or improving the efficiency of internal administrative operations, organizations, or management.
- Advising management on a variety of opportunities and options to increase organizational effectiveness.
- Reviewing reports to determine appropriate changes and/or corrective action required.
- Conducting studies, reviews, evaluations, and/or assessments of issues assigned.
- Preparing recommendations for implementation of new procedures and/or organizational changes.
- Ensuring compliance of managerial guidelines and administrative operations.
- Presenting findings, solutions, and recommendations to managers.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
