Help

Routine and non-routine maintenance on tractors/riding mowers and associated attached/towed equipment.
Electrical repairs to include such tasks as replace switches and light fixtures, changing light bulbs, assisting certified electrician(s) when pulling wire through conduit and install electrical boxes.
Concrete and plaster touch-up around historic and masonry structures.
Carpentry work to include construction, install, replace/repair items such as doors, shelves, racks, hardware, frame structures, windows, trim and cabinets, application of paint and stains to wood surfaces.
Provide daily direction to a diverse staff of wage grade employees comprised of term and seasonal employees.

You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided.
If you are a new employee or supervisor in the Federal government, you will be required to complete a one-year probationary period.
You may be required to travel occasionally overnight away from home. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes.

Physical Demands: Work from ladders, scaffolds and platforms. Where surfaces are to be coated or the parts of systems worked are hard to reach requiring the incumbent to stand stoop, bend kneel, climb and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.

Working Conditions: Work is done inside and outside where dirt spray and fumes area present. Also required to work in extreme weather conditions and/or wear protective equipment and clothing that are sometimes heavy and comfortable.
