Summary

About the Position: Serve as the Assistant Director of Operations for the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) and acts on behalf of the Deputy Director when absent or unavailable. Assists with the oversight and supervision of multiple Divisions that are responsible for business analytics, operations, plans, training/readiness, security, force management, force protection, anti-terrorism, reserve affairs, and products which have a CID interest.

Duties

Help
  • Assist in the formulation, development, and administration of objectives, plans, policies, and projects to meet operational requirements and organization needs.
  • Apply a wide range of program management techniques including program evaluation, program development, policy analysis, organizational principles, resource management, and negotiation of policy decisions.
  • Lead operational staff meetings and represents the Director at meetings as required or when designated to do so.
  • Responsible for the development of professional subordinates and their training in leadership, management, operational, technical, and administrative processes to ensure program objectives are met.
  • Manage and recommend organization and establishment of the manning structure and is responsible for programming changes to the Table of Distribution and Allowances (TDA).
  • Responsible for the submission of timecards and schedules for annual leave, and other related matters.
  • Maintain awareness of, and positive attitude toward, Equal Employment Opportunities (EEO) programs and objectives and supports the talent management and diversity plans.
  • Provide advice and staff guidance relative to programs, systems, and practices for increasing efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for plans, operations, and training throughout the organization

  • This position is emergency essential. In the event of crisis or war, you must continue to perform assigned duties to support mission requirements until relieved by proper authority. You will be required to take part in readiness exercises.
  • Must meet DoD/DA physical screening requirements for deployments to all OCONUS locations established by the CONUS Replacement Center (CRC) for OCONUS deployment, to include the deployment requirements for physical and dental deployment readiness.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: formulate, develop, and administer objectives, plans, policies, and projects to meet operational requirements and organization needs; evaluate organizational operations to ensure that plans are followed to meet objectives and goals; implement plans to staff all organizational elements efficiently and effectively; ensure adequate levels of training, training opportunities, and professional development opportunities are provided; and provide directional guidance and advice to staff. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14). Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and minimum qualification requirements prescribed by OPM within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.??
