We are seeking a dynamic Chief, Data and Data Analytics to join the US Space Force team! As the lead Data Scientist for the USSF, you will play a critical role in the planning and implementation of cutting-edge technology solutions that support the mission of the US Space Force. With your expertise in the data system design and analysis, you will be responsible for evaluating existing systems, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending innovative solutions to meet evolving needs of the organization.
In this role, you will work closely with cross functional/military, federal and civil services and organizations teams including engineers, developers, and subject matter experts to gather requirements, develop system specifications, and ensure seamless integration of new technology solution into existing systems. In addition, you will further develop excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams and effectively communication technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Ideal Candidate:
Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Expert professional knowledge of programming language such as Python, R, SQL and Java.
2. Strong knowledge of AI/ML theories and principles and its applicability to and within the enterprise level data ecosystem.
3. Advance knowledge of data governance/policies and data management practices.
4. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective data and analytics strategies.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and provide actionable insights to support decision-making for Space Force operations.
6. Skills in strong project management with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
7. Ability to work effectively with military and civilian leadership at all levels of the organization and have excellent communication and collaboration skills.
8. Experience with data management tools and technologies, such as data warehouses, business intelligence tools, and analytics software.
