The USAO for the Eastern District of Kentucky has a staff of approximately 50 attorneys and 50 support personnel. The main office is located in Lexington, with staffed branch offices in Ft. Mitchell and London, Kentucky. Unstaffed offices are located in Ashland, Frankfort, and Pikeville, Kentucky. The United States Attorney's Office seeks to maintain the highest standards of excellence in the enforcement of federal laws and the representation of the United States.
The Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) will be located in the Lexington, Kentucky office and will be assigned work on criminal cases within the Fraud Division. The Fraud Division is comprised of AUSAs and support staff litigating white collar criminal prosecutions and affirmative civil enforcement matters. The selected candidate will be fully dedicated to criminal work, and will be responsible for a wide variety of fraud prosecutions, including wire fraud, bank fraud, health care fraud, money laundering, tax offenses, cybercrime, corruption, and other complex prosecutions based on the candidate's progression and the office's needs. The selected candidate would also handle related appeals, including drafting appellate briefs and presenting oral arguments before the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

Salary Information: Assistant United States Attorney's pay is administratively determined based, in part, on the number of years of professional attorney experience. The range of basic pay is $ 69,107 to $ 180,756 with includes 16.50% locality pay.
