The Wage and Hour Division (WHD) is an essential labor law enforcement agency responsible for enforcing significant labor laws affecting nearly 150 million workers. Our mission is to protect rights related to minimum wage, overtime, child labor, family and medical leave, employment conditions for migrant workers, lie detector tests, garnishments, prevailing wages on government-funded contracts, labor provisions of several guest worker programs, and more.
The duties described below are similar to those of the full performance level but will be performed under closer than normal supervision. This position is designed to prepare the employee to perform the duties at the full performance level. As the employee progresses, the assignments will become more difficult and complex in preparation to successfully perform the duties at the next grade level. The career ladder progression for this position is GS-11/12.
