The office is soliciting applications for attorneys to fill an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) position within the Criminal Division of our Hammond Headquarters Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing investigations, case development, case presentation in court, case resolution, legal research and writing, and a variety of program responsibilities. Approximately half of the AUSA's case load will consist of prosecuting child exploitation crimes including production and distribution of child pornography, enticement, and related offenses. The AUSA will also be responsible for handling a variety of white-collar fraud cases.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
Salary Information: Assistant United States Attorney's pay is administratively determined based, in part, on the number of years of professional attorney experience. The range of basic pay is $69,107.00 to $180,646.00 plus locality pay. Locality Pay: This form of pay is added to basic pay and is determined based on the location of the assigned duty station. For Hammond, Indiana, this is set at a rate of 29.79%.
