EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT: Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. • A J.D. or LLB. degree from an ABA accredited law school; and
• An active membership. in good standing, of the bar of a state, territory of the United States, the District of Columbia. or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
You qualify for this position at the IC-14 level if you possess the following specialized experience and other qualifications:
Applicants must have at least three (3) years of full-time legal experience. Legal experience means experience in which the candidate's job duties required the provision of legal advice or representation, and which required the candidate to be an active member in good standing of the bar of any state or territory, or the District of Columbia.
Applicants must have at least two (2) years of specialized experience that is directly related to the line of work of this position, which has. equipped the applicant with particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. At least one of the two years of specialized experience must be at a level of difficulty and responsibility to that of an attorney at the IC-13 level.
You qualify for this position at the IC-14 level (starting salary $126,233) if you possess the following: a minimum of three years of full-time professional legal experience (after Bar admission), which includes (1) a minimum of two full years of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (IC-13) in the Federal Service; (2) of the two year requirement, at least one year of specialized experience must be completing tasks of an attorney at a level of difficulty equivalent to the IC-13 level. This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience. Examples of specialized experience would typically include but are not limited to:
