This position is located at Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, Assistant Administrator - Headquarters Operations/Regulations and Rulings Division.
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-14. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
- Manage specific regulatory program areas (distilled spirits, wine, beer, industrial alcohol, tobacco, public guidance, firearms and ammunition excise tax (FAET), Federal Alcohol Administration (FAA) Act, regulations drafting, and international) within the purview of the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB)
- Conduct long-range or large scale regulatory or public guidance projects encompassing the overall program of Headquarters Operations
- Act as the principal advisor to the Director, Regulations and Rulings Division, and other TTB management, concerning matters in specifically assigned program areas; Review rulings, industry circular, procedures, letters, memoranda, forms, and other public guidance associated with a program area to ensure consistency with policy and regulatory decisions
- Serve as an advisor to top-level management such as the Assistant Administrator (Headquarters Operations), division directors, Field Operations managers, and Chief Counsel on all policy issues and technical matters within the program area
