The Office of Strategic Communication is responsible for using communication to help the agency meet its mission and business goals.
As a Public Affairs Officer for the region/agency. Develops communication products and plans which promote an understanding of GSA programs and missions at the regional level. Responsible for website content and web 2.0 communication platforms, opinion editorials, news releases, and feature articles. The GS-12 salary range starts at $94,199 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.
To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience developing responses to media inquiries, press releases and strategies to produce coverage of important issues and breaking new stories; developing written informational materials for dissemination to the general public; responding to news media inquiries either personally or arranging for a response by officials. To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is extensive public affairs experience directly responding to news media inquiries; working with project managers and public affairs teams; monitoring ongoing projects simultaneously.
