The Acting Executive Director, Integrated Informatics and Analytics (ED, IIA) reports to the Deputy to the Assistant Under Secretary for Health (DAUSH) for Integrated Veteran Care (IVC) and is responsible for the oversight, management, and coordination of the Office of IVC health informatic and data analytics processes as well as serving the senior liaison/advisor between the Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), and external stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective partnerships with regard to technology, health informatics, and data analytics. The incumbent oversees the IIA Executive Directorate, whose focus is to provide tools and support for VHA leadership and offices to make data-driven decisions concerning Veterans access to care inside VHA and within the community.
The incumbent represents and speaks on behalf of the DAUSH in high level negotiations involving the establishment or implementation of all policies, practices, management, and operational activities of the Department and VHA within the areas of their purview.
The Acting ED, IIA oversees operational execution as well as strategic and long-range planning of their responsible areas, which includes Informatics and Data Analytics. These duties include managing and monitoring budget and productivity improvements of assigned departments and projects. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), this position ensures the development, implementation and evaluation of policies, procedures, programs and services consistent with the organization's executive management throughout the areas within their purview.
The Acting ED, IIA will serve as an integral part of the VA transformation to an integrated healthcare system, modernizing process and capabilities, and ultimately improve the overall Veteran experience. The incumbent will address complex issues related to in-depth analysis of IVC business processes, performance measures, design and development of reporting systems and requirements, workflow mapping and modification, and best practices models. The incumbent facilitates the creation/development and management of various IVC data warehouses for reporting and analytical needs. The incumbent will work with departments across all of IVC - including, but not limited to, access to care dashboards, claims payment, revenue cycle, and network management and integration areas - in the development and implementation of business processes for consults in the direct care system and referral of community care for analyzing and reporting information.
