The Deputy Director for Programs is responsible for providing executive leadership and oversight of the programmatic areas of the CHIPS R&D Program: Metrology, the National Semiconductor Technology Center, the National Advanced Packaging Manufacturing Program, and Manufacturing Program Coordination, including related Manufacturing USA institutes funded by CHIPS and in coordination with the Hollings Manufacturing Extension Program. The incumbent supports the NIST Director and CHIPS R&D Director and represents NIST with senior Administration officials, Congress, other federal agencies, industry leaders, and national and international organizations. Specific responsibilities include:
The incumbent must possess, at a minimum, a Bachelor's or other Advanced Degree in a scientific, engineering, or recognized or traditional professional field, or significant experience in a scientific, engineering, or recognized or traditional professional field.
