School Age Care (SAC) Position:
School Age Care (SAC) staff will be expected to create and implement lesson plans for children 5-12 years old. During the summer time staff are scheduled to go on field trips and may work without a break depending on program demands and will be working out in the elements. Hours of operation (M-F 0600-1730). Staff are scheduled to work split shift during the school year and work full days during non-school days such as winter, spring, summer breaks and teacher work days. Staff will transport youth by walking or driving a van to and from the school. Staff can be scheduled as early as 0530 to open the facility and scheduled as late as 1745 to close the facility.
Open Rec Position:
Open Rec staff will be expected to create and implement lesson plans for children 9-18 years old. During summer time staff are scheduled to go on field trips and may work without a break depending on program demands and will be working out in the elements. Hours of operation (M-Th 1330-1730; F 1330-1700). Staff work an uncommon tour which includes nights and weekends. Activities include week long camping trips, overnight ski trips, lock-ins, Friday night events and other high risk activities take place throughout the year. Staff schedules are changed based on the need of the program and staff can help with instructional classes. Staff will transport youth to activities by driving a van.
Sports Position:
Sports staff will work an uncommon tour which includes nights and weekends. Children in this program are 3-14 years old. Many of our sports take place outside so staff will be out in the elements for practices and games. Staff will also help maintain fields and will use government vehicles to transport equipment. Some clerical work is needed to help make teams, create rosters, and file paperwork. The league sports offered currently are baseball/t-ball, soccer, and basketball. During the summer week long sports camps take place such as flag football. Staff schedules are changed based on the need of the program.
CHILD AND YOUTH PROGRAM ASSISTANT (ALL LEVELS):
The incumbent will serve as a Child and Youth Program Assistant (CYPA) in one or more child and youth programs and will be accountable for the whereabouts and safety of children and youth. Provides care/supervision, oversight and accountability for program participants. Assists in preparing age appropriate activities; supervises children and youth during indoor and outdoor activities, on field trips, outings and special events; arranges and serves snacks/meals. Executes work in accordance with policies and regulations. May be required to transport children in government vehicles.
CHILD AND YOUTH PROGRAM ASSISTANT (TARGET LEVEL):
Coordinates and conducts activities for children and/or youth ranging in age from 6 weeks to 18 years. Creates an environment which welcomes participant interest and promotes positive interactions. Implements program options for children and youth with special requirements. Demonstrates, instructs, leads and facilitates planned and spontaneous program activities. Briefs staff, management, and parents on activities. Conducts inventory on equipment and supplies.
CHILD AND YOUTH PROGRAM ASSISTANT (INTERMEDIATE LEVEL):
Assists in planning, coordinating and conducting activities for program participants. Creates an environment which welcomes participant interest and promotes positive interactions. Implements daily schedules and activity plans to ensure age/stage appropriateness. Briefs staff, management, and parents on activities. Conducts inventory on equipment and supplies.
CHILD AND YOUTH PROGRAM ASSISTANT (ENTRY LEVEL):
Performs simple routine tasks following step-by-step instructions. Assists in providing planned activities using prepared curriculum and program materials. Creates an environment which welcomes participant interest and promotes positive interactions. Generates a list of needed supplies and equipment. Attends to the physical needs of the children, as applicable.
