The incumbent assumes the supervisory and administrative responsibility for the management of the assigned staff who function within various programs in the VA Hospital. As the supervisor, the incumbent assists in planning, establishing, and implementing policies and procedures; developing individual or group goals and objectives as well as monitoring, operating, evaluating, coordinating and overseeing the assigned staff of the program. The incumbent will assure the staff members who they supervise are aware of, adhere to all current directives of VHA, and meet current TJC standards, State licensure standards, and VA-OIG expectations. The incumbent will conduct ongoing intensive reviews and appraisals to ensure the accomplishment of objectives and adherence to standards set by governing bodies.
As Coordinator, the incumbent is responsible for the following:
- Works closely with the Intensive Services Program Manager and Coordinates interdisciplinary staffing, work assignments, budget, treatment services and admission criteria for the PTSD RRTP and Outpatient SA Programs.
- Assigns, directs, and reviews the work of subordinates in the PTSD RRTP.
- Serves as leader for a multi- disciplinary team.
- Evaluates employees' work performance in the PTSD RRTP.
- Incumbent is accountable for planning and providing staff development and training to address identified deficiencies and to maintain and enhance skills, as well as recommending staff training needs to the Education Committee.
- Initiates action for selections, promotions, status changes, awards, disciplinary actions, and separations.
- Plans, schedules, and coordinates work and solves problems related to the work.
- Responsible for unit needs such as material, equipment, and facilities needed to complete work.
- Explains and gains the support of employees for developing, implementing and managing policies and establishing goals, in addition to working to achieve the objectives of government wide personnel programs and policies.
