Duties
As a Contract Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
- Conducting pre-award and post-award functions involving the agency's standard-to-specialized procurement actions.
- Advising IT and/or technical staff on anticipated procurement requirements and provide assistance to program specialists in the preparation of contractually acceptable specifications, work statements, perform work statements, and quality assurance criteria.
- Reviewing procurement request and attached documents to assure clarity, adequacy, completeness and compliance with established regulations.
- Participating in negotiations of individual contracts to obtain requirements at a fair and reasonable cost.
- Evaluating proposals for conformance with the solicitation.
- Conducting conferences with contractors to provide information and clarify standards and special provisions of the contract.
