Related curriculum - Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least 1 year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Specialized Experience GS7: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) gathering data, 2) organizing data, and 3) preparing reports, publications, and/or presentations for environmental projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: biological sciences, engineering, geology, physical science, and/or oceanography.
OR
Superior Academic Achievement. In order to be creditable under this provision, Superior Academic Achievement must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled, such as that identified in Education above. Superior Academic Achievement is based on:
(1) Class Standing - Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses; OR

About the Position: Serve as Project Manager in the Upstate Regulatory Field Office in the New York District. Responsible for administering and executing the Corps' regulatory program with the responsibility for evaluating the Department of the Army permit applications, resolving enforcement/compliance cases and conducting jurisdictional delineations and determinations for activities in the waters of the U.S. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Regulatory program improves and enhances the physical, biological and chemical integrity of the nations' water resources, and ensure regulated activities in these waters are not contrary to the public interest.
Applicants can be selected at the GS-07, GS-9 or full performance GS-11.
This position has an intervening developmental grade of GS-9. The target grade of this position is GS-11. As the selected employee develops the skills and knowledge through On-the-Job training, the employee may be non-competitively promoted to the target grade of GS-11 through the intermediary grade level of GS-09.
