This is a full-time term appointment in the excepted service not to exceed 13 months. Term appointments may be extended beyond the initial term. As a term employee you will be eligible for medical insurance, life insurance, retirement, dental and vision. You will be eligible to earn annual leave and sick leave.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must (a) hold a bachelor's degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, OR (b) possess a combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above.
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTORS/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Applicants will be evaluated on the following: 1) Academic Accomplishment as indicated by possession of an Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Systems Engineering (SE), Engineering Management (EM), Systems Design, Decision Science or closely related fields; 2.) Demonstrable experience in contemporary System Engineering, Engineering Management, or Systems Design techniques, methodologies, and best practices; 3.) Ability to plan, develop, evaluate, and teach undergraduate courses and lead programs in Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, or Systems and Decision Sciences; 4.) Experience with and potential for leadership in graduate scholarship programs (experience with the GEM Fellowship is preferred); 5.) Ability to advise cadets and faculty on diversity education opportunities such as curriculum development, scholarships, and partnerships; and 6.) Conduct community outreach on diversity education opportunities and serve on relevant committees.
