This position offers the opportunity to work in a maximum telework capacity as authorized by the agency.
This position is located in the Office of Inspector General (OIG), Office of Counsel and Congressional and Public Affairs (OCCPA), Congressional and Public Affairs Directorate (CPA). The incumbent is responsible for coordinating hotline activities and providing daily operational oversight for addressing hotline complaints and allegations.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will perform the following duties:
Receives and evaluates complaints from various sources both internal and external to the organization. Obtains and records specific detailed information relating to complaints, which may allege fraud, waste, abuse, mismanagement and/or misconduct; prepares written referrals to OIG component offices for consideration of initiating investigations, audits, evaluations and/or other action, as well as to other government agencies. Performs research, monitoring and coordination with leadership of OIG component offices.
Prepares reports and other written material based on extensive research and/or knowledge of informational systems, directives, rules, regulations, policies, procedures and files of the OIG;
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Deputy AIG for Congressional and Public Affairs (CPA); these may include, but are not limited to, written and oral communications; assistance with web, multimedia and social media projects; and support for congressional and media activities;
Utilizes various software programs (including but not limited to MS Word and MS Excel) and OIG databases to gather, summarize and analyze statistical data and OIG program activities.
This position is designated as High Risk and requires a background investigation. Unless an appropriate background investigation is already on record with the Office of Personnel Management, you must undergo a background investigation.
You must meet time in grade requirements no later than 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement.

You may qualify for the GS-13 grade level, if you possess experience coordinating hotline activities, or performing other work that regularly involves researching records, preparing and reporting documents, identifying and conducting complex analytical studies, and coordinating access to supplemental data sources. Provides daily operational oversight for addressing hotline complaints and allegations.
