CBO's Office of Communications seeks an intern with a strong work ethic to assist with the agency's media relations and public affairs. The position, which could start as soon as September 2023, would last through the end of the year and could extend into the spring. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Communications and will serve as a key member of the communications team.

The successful candidate will report to the Director of Communications and will serve as a key member of the communications team. Duties include responding to phone and email inquiries from the media and the public on a wide range of topics, attending and preparing for Congressional hearings, coordinating meetings with outside groups and international visitors, helping with preparations before the release of CBO's major recurring reports, and working on other communications projects and planning as needed.

Candidates must be working toward a degree, preferably in journalism, mass communications, strategic communications, public relations, public policy, or a related field. Specifically, they must either be on track to earn a bachelor's degree by May 2024 or May 2025 and have applicable experience, or they must be in a master's degree program in one of those fields.
