As an Attorney-Adviser you'll perform the following duties:
GS-0905-13
Provide legal counsel to the Board. Represents the Board in all legal matters. Consults with and advises the Board Judges, Board Chair, and Vice Chairs on legal, ethics, personnel, and policy matters at the Board. Assigned a wide variety of matters involving multiple issues of fact and law for which there is frequently no precedent.
Conduct research, and prepares memoranda for the Board regarding (a) matters of policy and procedure; (b) regulations; (c) ethics; (d) statutes; (e) legal issues and conflicts; and (f) administrative law matters, such as Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. Reviews, analyzes, and comments on new legislation, regulations, policies, procedures, and orders related to the Board. Prepares bench and legal memoranda for the Board Judges, analyzing complex and novel legal issues.
Consult with Board Judges on case-related legal issues. Reviews, proofreads, and edits draft decisions of Board Judges for legal sufficiency, consistency, and proper legal citation, and recommends revisions, where appropriate.
Communicate with and responds to the public, federal agencies and litigants regarding the Board's procedures and rules and other issues not related to specific cases before the Board.
Perform other duties as assigned, to include facilitating and providing guidance on the Board’s human resources needs, often in coordination with GSA’s human resources, ethics, legal, and security offices. Specific duties may include, but are not limited to, working with GSA’s human resources offices on drafting position descriptions and recommending the appropriate classification for positions; and on-boarding and out-processing Board employees.

The GS-13 salary range starts at $106,823 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.
To qualify you must possess all of the following: 1) Successful completion of a full course of study in a school of law accredited by the American Bar Association and possession of at least the initial professional law degree (J.D.); and 2) Bar Membership: You must be an active member of the bar; in good standing of a State, a Territory of the United States, District of Columbia or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico ; and 3) Experience: Applicant must have at least 3 years of relevant legal experience commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position, with an emphasis on experience as a practicing attorney, acquired after being admitted to the bar, with some familiarity with government contracts law.
The GS-14 salary range starts at $126,233 per year.
