As a Senior Equity Investment Policy Officer, you will:
- Lead the review and consideration of specific equity investment opportunities, including leading committees established to review and approve transactions.
- Represent the Credit and Equity Investment Policy Division on the evaluation committee for transactions led by the Office of Equity and Investment funds, for both investment funds and direct equity.
- As part of the consideration of potential investments, review in-depth analyses of equity proposals to determine their market, competitive, business, and financial viability, including review of financial statements, proforma financial models and valuation analyses. Assess technical, economic, legal, and political feasibility of projects.
- Present and defend investment fund and direct equity assessments, valuations, exit strategies, and proposals to top DFC officials.
- Assist in the development and recommendation of improvements to policies, procedures, evaluation, and underwriting standards for the Direct Equity Program of DFC.
- Generate new methods and new concepts that will help DFC match state-of-the-art processes in other development finance institutions and in the private sector for the evaluation and consideration of investment funds and direct equity investments, such as those used in private equity firms dealing with emerging markets.
- Provide support and guidance as a consultant to the origination teams in the Office of Equity and Investment Funds as they develop projects for consideration by DFC.
- Contribute to, or collaborate in, an on-going cross departmental initiative to develop asset valuation techniques for the equity portfolio and Fair Value Accounting policies.
- Provide detailed assessments of complex new international project and corporate financings, as presented by originating teams; and assist teams with guidance and informed opinion as to the quality and potential weaknesses of the proposals; recommend modifications to such proposals to meet DFC and appropriate industry standards.
