The Community Relations Service (CRS) is the Justice Department's "Peacemaker" for community conflicts arising from identity-based disputes. CRS' mission is to provide violence prevention and conflict resolution services to diverse community stakeholders. CRS provides facilitated dialogue, mediation, training, and consultation to assist these communities to come together, develop solutions to the conflict, and enhance their capacity to independently prevent and resolve future conflict.

This is a remote job that allows remote work from within a designated area (Minneapolis, MN or St. Louis, MO) at the discretion of CRS. The applicant will telework when not in local meetings or on travel.
The work involves developing innovative techniques that help disputing parties constructively address issues and concerns. The incumbent provides assistance and advice to Federal, State and local officials, public and private officials, community leaders and organizations, and individuals in interpreting and clarifying issues and assisting communities in developing mechanisms for preventing and resolving their concerns. The services provided affect a community's ability to deescalate tensions and conflicts and provides them with skills required to resolve future tensions. The duties and responsibilities of Conciliation Specialist generally include, but are not limited to, the following:
Specialized Experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as:
