Work with teams to develop data products and definitions. Use appropriate analytic and statistical software to programmatically prepare data for analysis and clean imperfect data. Constructs data pipelines using complex tools and techniques to handle data at scale. Analyzes complex data elements and systems, data flow, dependencies, and relationships in order to contribute to conceptual physical and logical data models. Determines the adequacy of input data and ensures integrity and pertinence of output data. Consult with stakeholders and customers to identify the appropriate data, methodological approach, and design. The GS-13 salary range starts at $94,373 per year. The GS-14 salary range starts at $111,521 per year. Locality pay will be determined by the geographical location of the selection. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.
To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience organizing and moving large amounts of structured and unstructured data; conducting analyses using software and/or programming languages to explore data, test hypotheses, predict outcomes, and inform decisions; and working with customers to create useful presentations and interpretations of analytical outputs.
To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience organizing and moving large amounts of structured and unstructured data; conducting complex analyses using software and/or programming languages to explore data, test hypotheses, predict outcomes, and inform decisions; deriving meaning from big data to influence agency decision making; analyzing complex data elements and systems, data flows, dependencies, and relationships; translating complex concepts, findings, and limitations into concise, plain language; developing and presenting findings using compelling qualitative and quantitative visualizations that influence key decisions and improve organizational outcomes.
In addition to the specialized experience, you must meet the following Basic Requirements:
A. Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position OR
B. Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
