The incumbent serves as a Staff Specialist within the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), United States Secret Service (USSS), performing a wide variety of administrative and analytical assignments. Typical work assignments include:

This Staff Specialist position starts at a salary of $106,823 (GS-13 step 1), with potential to $138,868 (GS-13 step 10).

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
You qualify for the GS-13 level (starting salary $106,823) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level performing duties such as: performing a wide variety of administrative and analytical assignments in support of staffing and other programmatic functions; defining administrative requirements; assisting with the development, coordination, and implementation of program objectives;; reviewing and analyzing program, project and operations, revising materials for management; preparing narrative and/or statistical reports on behalf of management; assisting in planning and integration of new or changing functions and goals; executing human resource actions, making recommendations for streamlining operations; and analyzing and evaluating the administrative operational procedures and requirements for organizational proficiency and productivity.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service.
