As a Museum Specialist you will develop, coordinates and executes scholarly programs related to the museum’s collections and exhibition for diverse audiences. Such programs range from lectures and panel discussions to workshops and symposia, each designed to deepen understanding and appreciation of Asian art and culture as well as American Art of the Gilded Age.
Will also perform the following duties:
Manages applications for fellows and visiting scholars, manages assignment and maintenance of workspaces, facilitates integration into the museum.
Assists with coordinating scholarly web content and oversees regular updates of websites and the creation of new content.
Researches digital analytical methods, and manages collaborations with research institutions and universities

To Qualify for the Grade 9: You qualify for this position if you possess one year of specialized experience (Federal or other) equivalent to the GS-7 level in the Federal Service or compatible pay band system. For this position, specialized experience is defined as: Assisting in co-development and delivery of scholarly programs related to a museum’s or cultural institution’s collections or exhibits; and assists in the review and production of scholarly publications (print or online);
OR
Education: 2 full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education or master's or equivalent graduate degree related to the position.
OR
A combination of graduate level education and specialized experience as described above.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
