WHAT DOES A COMPETENT AUTHORITY ANALYST (APMA TEAM LEADER) DO?
This position seeks tax professionals (lawyers, accountants, or economists) who will perform the duties of a Team Leader within the Advance Pricing and Mutual Agreement program (APMA). APMA is a unit of Treaty and Transfer Pricing Operations (TTPO) and houses the portion of the office of the U.S. Competent Authority that deals with transfer pricing issues. TTPO is a practice area within the IRS' Large Business and International division. Incumbents possess substantial skill in the area of international tax provisions relating to transfer pricing under section 482 of the Internal Revenue Code and the regulations thereunder and advanced knowledge of relevant provisions in U.S. income tax treaties (e.g., Articles 7, 9 and 25) and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Transfer Pricing Guidelines.
